Professor What II: The Wrath of Cons

The City of San Diego was host to Comic-Con International from July 18th to 21st. Saban Brands and other affiliates related to the Power Rangers franchise were present, reminiscing about Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and looking to the future with Power Rangers Super Megaforce.

GOLD POWER!
Oh yeah, I met Steven Skyler, too.

Chief amongst the brands represented were Bandai and Tamashii Nations, which provided a look at things to come.

Bandai exhibited the toys of shows past, and prototypes for products coming in 2014, related to the ‘Legacy’ branding as well as Power Rangers Super Megaforce.

A ‘Legacy’ release of the Dragonzord is planned for 2014, which will be compatible with the Legacy Megazord and the Zordbuilder system. Also planned is a Dragon Dagger, for which nearly no details are known.

There are plans for a ‘Jumbo Megazord,’ however.

We also got to see the plans for Ranger Keys, the ‘Legendary Megazord,’ and the ‘Legendary Morpher.’ These names are not confirmed, but they were what was used at the convention.

Tamashii Nations also showed us plans regarding Figuarts!

Shout! Factory also has a 20-year anniversary box set. Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures of the box personally.
It’s the Red MMPR Helmet, and the 20 tins which contain the DVDs will slot in.

All in all, a great convention. I didn’t spend the whole time doing Power Rangers stuff, but I had fun doing the Power Rangers things I did do. I’m already looking forward to and optimistic for next year!

On the other hand, the Megaforce Rangers just seem confused for next year.
