Becky G has been cast as the new Yellow Ranger for the upcoming Lionsgate Power Rangers film! Becky G is known primarily as a recording artist, having contributed to the soundtracks of features films such as The Smurfs 2 and Hotel Transylvania.

She joins RJ Cyler (Blue Ranger), Naomi Scott (Pink Ranger), Dacre Montgomery (Red Ranger), and Ludi Lin in the coming film. Cyler has previously appeared in Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. Lin has appeared in the Netflix series Marco Polo, while Scott has recently appeared in the box office hit The Martian and the television series Terra Nova (alongside Power Rangers RPM‘s Eka Darville), while Montgomery is known for his appearance in the Australian short film “BETRAND THE TERRIBLE.”

The Power Rangers film is due to hit theaters on January 13, 2017. Dean Israelite serves as the film’s director, with Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz serving as writers, and Saban Brands’ Haim Saban and Brian Casentini, and Lionsgate’s Alison Shearmur serve as executive producers.
