Ryouma Sengoku is the titular subject of this episode, but the focus shifts rapidly from him and his (unspoken) plan for apotheosis by taking on Kouta and Kaito as interns. Kouta gets some face time with DJ Sagara who waxes poetic and is later confronted by Sid about [insert ambiguous moral dilemma here]. Kaito does some more opportunistic stuff and gets beat up a bit (yeah!). Takatora sees his little brother running around with street rats and almost sees him transform. That is the long and short of it, but so much cool execution happened that this is one of the best episodes so far.

I feel like they accomplished in one scene what Wizard failed to do with the whole stretch of the series Mayu was in: making you look at a female rider and think ‘I don’t want to mess with this person’.
Oh, and also, why does Mai need to see herself as a Beat Rider to protest using the Inves? She’s already seen the effects of the disease for herself, so why wouldn’t she speak up about it?
