Judging from the head writer’s one of his previous works, I’m not sure this show would be better, if it was shorter.
For me, I kinda like this show because it’s fun to watch even the writing is a mess unlike Madoka, which I really despise. Plus this was my first real exposure to the Kamen Rider franchise and Toku in general.
So you think Gaim would be a mess like Madoka if it was shorter? How was Madoka a mess?
If you would like suggestions on other Riders to check out, Kiva is approved by GomessQ and IllusClaire. Sono, Aleph and I really liked Fourze (which was my first week-to-week show). The Original, Black and Kuuga are also really great places to start. i have also heard great things about Amazon.
I thought half of the show was pretty pointless, focusing on a character who doesn’t play a part in the story’s climax. And quite frankly, I found her arc pretty bad anyway. My other problems with it: The characers personality is not very good, wasn’t fan of the general plot and relied on shock value tactics, the villain (who is painfully obvious) didn’t do anything for me and ending is rushed and lacks emotional impact. Oh, and I hate the monster desings.
I watched Fourze already ( I liked it). I also finished W and OOO,and saw bit of Kuuga. Currently I focusing on Kabuto. (so far it’s alright) Still, thanks for the recommandations!
For the quetion why people like Gaim, in my observation it really seems like people are liking it on an idea level, and if I want to be really frank and cruel, also because they don’t remember other Kamen Rider shows somehow or just haven’t watched enough.
HJU community especially gives me the impression that they like everything Gaim does partially just because they just don’t like anything that came before it (mainly Wizard), which really baffles me especially given how blatantly manipulative Gaim is.
